The Story: I was born and raised in the United States, never knowing my Kenyan roots until adulthood. My father, Julius Sang, was a Kenyan Olympian who won gold and silver medals in the 1972 Olympics and attended North Carolina Central University. Though he never knew of my birth, his legacy lives on—not only in me but in the future of education in Eldoret, Kenya.
Today, I am reconnecting with my family in Kenya and working to support the Tecla Chemabwai- Sang Educational Centre , a school founded by my stepmother to provide quality education to children in Eldoret. BondEd Africa is my initiative to bridge cultures, foster education, and create lasting opportunities for young learners.
